We believe the primary purpose of Church is for the people to experience God through worship. Therefore we emphasize the worship environment so that when people have spent time with us they have a truly uplifting experience that leaves them more desiring of God.
This concept highlights our high priority on being a place of Christian growth and development for young people. We offer great ministries that build up the next generation through meaningful worship, service, and friendships of their own. We even encourage youth to take up leadership roles within the church.
It’s our conviction that without prayer, we are powerless to make any great impact on the world around us. Prayer is something we do individually, corporately, through conversation with God, and in request of needs we may have. Prayer itself is an act of worship and therefore our church is dedicated to making our church truly a “house of prayer.”
First John declares that God is Love. We don’t necessarily believe love is God, but that the heart of God is for His unconditional love to become a reality among those within the church community so that we are built up and equipped for this holy faith. In addition, we desire that such unconditional love be spread into our immediate communities through acts of service and then beyond to the world through global mission projects and support.
We believe that the Holy Bible consists of 66 books broken into two sections, the Old and New Testament. These books are inspired by God, infallible, and our final authority to understanding God’s perspective for true faith and our life. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).
We believe in the one and only true God (Deuteronomy 6:4) who exists in Three Persons also known as “The Trinity:” the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (John 14:11-17).
We believe in the total depravity of humanity. Because all are born into this sinful state, they are in need of regeneration — salvation (Romans 3:9-11; John 3:3, 16).
We believe that salvation comes through Jesus Christ and is a free gift to all who trust Christ as their Savior (Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-10). The sacrifice of Christ is the only satisfying measure to guarantee our eternal life and righteousness before God (Hebrews 9:22; 1 John 2:2).
We believe in the virgin birth of Christ, and that He is fully God and fully man. (Matthew 1:18-25).
We believe that the Holy Spirit is given to all who believe in Christ, to help them understand the truth (John 16:13), guarantee their future salvation (Ephesians 1:14), and equip them with spiritual gifts to help the church build for the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 12; Romans 4).
We believe in the literal resurrection of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:1-10). We believe that those who trust in Christ will receive glorified bodies and rise to life with him in heaven (1 Corinthians 15; Revelation 21); and those who deny Christ will receive everlasting separation from God (Revelation 20:11-15).
We believe that Christ is coming again (Acts 1:9-11; Revelation 19).
In addition to the common belief of Christian churches universal, above, Rockpoint is a member of the Christian Reformed Church in North America, which further affirms three creeds and three confessions as reliable historical documents.
